Happy New year every one, and i hope that you have a great 2015. 

While you are all out celebrating christmas and the new year, i have been stuck on a 35 year old gas and oil platform in the north sea. 

Fly home soon though and will be spending some quality time with the family. 

Can... not... wait!!

Life on a rope.

Here are a few images recently taken from a trip offshore with my little GF1. 

Its was over 40 degrees in heat and hanging from a rope out in Azerbaijan in the Caspian sea, on the BP Shah deniz Gas rig. 

My little Panasonic GF1 still blows me away sometimes...

The Following image was taken with my little Panasonic GF1, 

and sometimes it still shocks me with the quality that it knocks out... 

Ok this isn't a PhaseOne, or a nikon D4, but for a crappy point and shoot camera that lives in my jacket pocket.. it certainly packs a punch.

Here is an image taken in a night club, it was really dark to the mark1-eyeball and so i thought that the camera wouldn't stand a chance.

Here are some images taken at night while offshore at work. These images believe it or not are taken with the Lumix GF1, i would never have been able to have taken these with the Canon G10. The quality is superb!

I wanted to post some images that were recently taken on my Lumix GF1

I am certainly loving this little point and shoot camera. I have a fixed 20mm prime lens for it, which i find to be a great tool on improving your photography. When using a prime lens you are restricted to compose by using...- your feet!

If you want a tighter crop then walk closer, and so it is certainly making me look at things differently.

Having a little point and shoot on your person is great so you don't miss anything when you are out and about conducting your day to day business.

The Above image is a great example to this, the Mrs and i were out in Cambridge to get a spot of lunch, walking towards the restaurant we walked past this tiny alley way. I stopped,

I took a step back and was loving how the light was playing a huge part in making the contrast you see. I took a quick shot and off for some grub.

Over time i will be adding some more "snappy" shots that i take with the GF1. I hope that you enjoy.

Happy New year to you all. 

I spent New Year up in the Lake District which was a fantastic time.

We had the weather on our side, but the drive home was abit of fun in the gale force winds. 

Santa was kind enough to get me a Lumix GF1 to play with. I used to use the Cannon G10 for my everyday compact to carry about with me, but i was not impressed with the noise it produces, and in my opinion produces really poor quality images. 

A few mates of mine have started a

GF1 group

and i was impressed with the little compact that they have all gotten attached too. 

Lumix are now selling the GF3 £300, but this camera doesn't have a hot shoe, The GF2 has a really annoying touch screen and so the GF1 is certainly the one that you want. Mine was off ebay for £120 which i thought was a steal. 

I had to purchase a lens, and so went for the 20mm pancake lens.

All the images in this post are taken with the GF1 using the 20mm lens.
